PRO TOOLS - How Do I Pan Stereo Tracks in Pro Tools with Platform M+, QCon Pro X, QCon Pro G2 and Platform Nano
Due to restrictions of HUI protocol, panning a stereo track is not immediately obvious.
Please adopt the following methodology;
The Platform M+
Panning to the left is as normal, using the associated rotary control knob. In order to pan to the RIGHT;
Press and hold LOCK and then press ENCODER KNOB 8.
Now, use the channel rotary control knob to pan the channel on the right hand side.
Press and hold LOCK and press ENCODER KNOB 8 again to return the rotary knob to controlling the left side of the stereo field.
The Platform X+
Firmware 2.13 (and subsequent firmware updates) now allows the user to stereo pan tracks on the Platform X+ extender unit.
The G2 and Pro X
Panning to the left is as normal, using the associated rotary control knob. In order to pan to the RIGHT;
Press PAN on the control panel twice. The PAN light will blink. Whilst the PAN light is blinking, adjust the right hand side of the stereo field with rotary controller of the channel you have selected. Press PAN again to return the controller to the left side, (the PAN light will stop blinking).
The Platform Nano
Panning to the left is as normal, using the associated rotary control knob. In order to pan to the RIGHT;
Press PAN on the control panel twice. The PAN light will blink. Whilst the PAN light is blinking, adjust the right hand side of the stereo field with rotary controller of the channel you have selected. Press PAN again to return the controller to the left side, (the PAN light will stop blinking).
