Logic Pro: Control Plug-ins and Channel EQ with V1-M, P1-M, and P1 Nano

Overview
The V1-M, P1-M, and P1 Nano can control plug-ins in Logic Pro using Mackie Control. This lets you adjust plug-in parameters directly from your controller, so your hands can stay in the creative flow while you shape your sound.
You can use this method for third-party plug-ins and Logic Pro’s native plugins or Channel EQ.
Control a Plug-in in Logic Pro
- Select the track in Logic Pro where you want to insert or control the plug-in.
- Press
Plugintwice on your controller.
This opens the Insert assignment view. - Choose the encoder where you want to assign the insert.
- Select the plug-in.
You can either:- Turn the encoder to scroll through your available plug-ins, or
- Assign the plug-in directly inside Logic Pro.
- Press the encoder once you have found the plug-in you want to use.
- The plug-in parameters will appear on the controller display.
- Turn the encoders to control the available plug-in parameters.
- To access more parameters, press the
<> Movebutton. - Use the jog wheel to scroll through additional parameter pages.
Control Logic Pro Channel EQ
Logic Pro’s native Channel EQ works in the same way, using the EQ button.
- Select the track where you want to insert or control Channel EQ.
- Press
EQtwice on your controller.
This opens the Insert assignment view. - Choose the encoder where you want to assign the Channel EQ insert.
- Select Channel EQ.
You can either:- Turn the encoder to scroll through your plug-ins, or
- Assign Channel EQ directly inside Logic Pro.
- Once you find Channel EQ, press the encoder.
- The Channel EQ parameters will appear on the controller display.
- Turn the encoders to control the available EQ parameters.
- To access more EQ parameters, press the
<> Movebutton. - Use the jog wheel to scroll through additional parameter pages.
Helpful Notes
- Pressing Plugin twice opens plug-in insert assignment.
- Pressing EQ twice opens EQ insert assignment.
- The selected track in Logic Pro determines which plug-in or EQ you are controlling.
- Use the
<> Movebutton and jog wheel when a plug-in has more parameters than can fit on one page.
Result
You can now control Logic Pro plug-ins and Channel EQ directly from your V1-M, P1-M, or P1 Nano using Mackie Control. This gives you faster access to the sound-shaping tools you use most, with less time reaching for the mouse.
