FAQ: How can I control banking and plug ins in the Platform series (X+/B+/M+)?
The platform series includes the Platform Nano, M+, X+ and B+, Platform U22 and D2 detachable display screens.
The Nano is a stand alone device and should not be used in conjunction with other Platform series devices.
The M+ is designed as the ‘hub’ of the series. It is possible to use the X+ on it’s own but you will have severely impacted workflow in that there will be no banking available (from track from tracks 1-8, tracks 9-16 and so on) and no transport control. The banking function cannot be programmed via iMap or any other means. In order to bank through the tracks, the M+ must be used. The X+ is designed as an extender, not the main unit.
The B+ is designed for plug in control. It is possible to program functions to control plug ins via iMap to the X+ or M+ or Midi learn in your DAW, but as a consequence, the standard functions that those two units were designed to perform are, therefore, no longer available.
Users are reminded that advanced understanding of MIDI mapping from their DAW is required in order to perform this task.
The simplest and most effective solution for plug in control is the Platform B+ by far.
The M+, X+ and B+ together with the Platform U22 (a 24-Bit 96/192KHz 2-In/2-Out audio interface powered by world-class D/A and A/D converters), provide the user with a formidable modular, expandable system that can control plug ins, has transport and rotary controls and up to 32 bankable ALPS analogue faders on rock solid, ergonomic units.
