Logic Pro Official iCON DAW Controller Script Public Beta — Setup Guide and FAQ
The Logic Pro Official iCON DAW Controller Script Public Beta (Release Date July 1, 2026) gives V Series and P Series iCON DAW controllers deeper integration with Logic Pro.
This script extends the familiar Mackie Control workflow with additional iCON controller features, including track colors, clearer display information, improved meter behavior, and a fixed information display for key track data.
This guide will help you install the script, assign your controller in Logic Pro, load the correct iMap DAW mapping, and solve common setup questions.
Before You Begin
Please complete these steps before installing the Logic Pro script:
- Update your iCON controller firmware to the latest version using iMap.
- Open Logic Pro.
- Go to Logic Pro > Control Surfaces > Setup.
- Delete any existing iCON or Mackie Control devices from the setup window.
- Close Logic Pro.
- Turn off your iCON controller.
- Run the Double-Click to install installer file.
These scripts replace the previous Mackie Control device setup inside Logic Pro, so removing old control surface entries helps Logic Pro start with a clean setup.
Installation Steps
After the installer has finished:
- Turn on your iCON controller.
- Open the correct iMap application for your controller.
- Copy the Logic Pro iMap DAW mapping files from the DMG.
- Load the Logic Pro DAW mapping into DAW Slot 1 / Port 1 in iMap.
- Open Logic Pro.
- If Logic Pro asks how to handle the device, choose Auto-Assign.
- If Control Surface Setup opens, check that your iCON controller appears online.
Important: Logic Pro requires this script to use Port 1. Keep the Logic Pro iMap setting on Port 1, and set both the input and output ports to Port 1 in Logic Pro’s Control Surface Setup.
If Auto-Assign Does Not Appear
If Logic Pro does not show the Auto-Assign pop-up:
- Open Logic Pro Preferences.
- Go to Settings > Control Surfaces.
- Open the MIDI Controllers tab.
- Enable the Auto checkmark next to your iCON device.
- Logic Pro should then open Control Surface Setup and add the controller.
Setting Up Multiple Controllers or Extenders
If you use more than one iCON controller, Logic Pro may place the devices under each other in Control Surface Setup.
Drag the devices into the same left-to-right order as your physical setup.
Example:
If your V1-X1 extender is physically placed to the left of your V1-M, drag the V1-X1 to the left of the V1-M in Logic Pro’s Control Surface Setup.
Devices placed next to each other are grouped.
Check the Fader Bank Offset
The Fader Bank Offset tells Logic Pro where each controller sits in the channel row.
For example, if a second V-Series or P-Series device should control the next group of 8 channels, set its Fader Bank Offset to 8.
If two devices are both set to 0, they may control the same channels instead of separate channel banks.
FAQ
What does the Logic Pro Official iCON DAW Controller Script do?
The script gives supported iCON DAW controllers deeper Logic Pro control surface integration.
It extends Mackie Control functionality with additional iCON features, including:
- Track colors
- More concise display data
- Persistent fixed information display
- Improved beat display
- Expanded display line usage
- Improved meter behavior
- Master fader control of the first output
- Selected track control from the V1-M master fader
Why do I need to remove existing Mackie Control devices first?
The Logic Pro Official iCON DAW Controller Script replaces the previous Mackie Control device setup.
Removing old iCON or Mackie Control entries before installation helps Logic Pro assign the new script cleanly.
Why must I use Port 1?
Logic Pro requires this script to use a fixed output port.
For the most stable connection, keep the Logic Pro iMap setting on Port 1, and make sure the input and output ports are also set to Port 1 in Logic Pro’s Control Surface Setup.
What should I select when Logic Pro asks how to handle the device?
Select Auto-Assign.
This allows Logic Pro to match the correct script to your iCON controller.
What if the Auto-Assign message does not appear?
Open Logic Pro Preferences, then go to Settings > Control Surfaces > MIDI Controllers.
Enable the Auto checkmark next to your iCON device. Logic Pro should then open Control Surface Setup and add the device.
What is the fixed information display?
The script adds a fixed information display that can always show one of three useful track views:
- Track Panning
- Track Volume
- Track Automation Mode
These options are controlled by three touch buttons added through the iMap configuration.
How do I load the Logic Pro DAW mapping in iMap?
After installation:
- Turn on your iCON controller.
- Open the correct iMap application.
- Copy the Logic Pro iMap DAW files from the DMG.
- Load them into DAW Slot 1 / Port 1.
To load only the Logic Pro DAW mapping, right-click between the buttons in iMap and select Load DAW mapping.
What should I do if two controllers control the same channels?
Check the Fader Bank Offset setting in Logic Pro’s Control Surface Setup.
If both devices are set to 0, they may reference the same channels. For a second 8-channel device, set the offset to 8 so it controls the next bank of channels.
What should I do if my controller behavior becomes scrambled?
Try refreshing Logic Pro’s control surface setup:
- In Logic Pro, open the Logic Pro menu.
- Go to Control Surfaces > Rebuild Defaults.
- Wait for Logic Pro to reset the control surface defaults.
The faders may move briefly. This is normal.
If the issue continues:
- Go to Logic Pro > Control Surfaces > Setup.
- Select the iCON devices.
- Press Delete or Backspace.
- Restart Logic Pro.
- Allow the devices to be added again.
- Drag them back into the correct order.
What should I do if the V1-M jog wheel timeline navigation becomes scrambled?
Use the same refresh steps:
- Try Control Surfaces > Rebuild Defaults first.
- If needed, delete the iCON devices from Control Surface Setup.
- Restart Logic Pro.
- Allow the devices to be added again.
What should I do if small V1 displays are blank?
Press a Select button on the V1 device.
This refreshes the display information.
What should I do if multiple mode buttons light up at once?
This can happen if modes are changed very quickly.
Pause briefly between mode changes and allow Logic Pro time to update the controller state. If the behavior continues, use Control Surfaces > Rebuild Defaults.
How do I reset a fader to 0 dB?
On supported V1 setups, hold the Option touch screen button and lightly touch the fader.
In some sessions, you may need to hold the Option button a little longer before the reset responds.
What if I use many control surfaces at the same time?
Using many control surfaces at once can place extra stress on Logic Pro’s control surface system.
For the most stable session, keep only the control surfaces you are actively using enabled.
Is there a Logic Pro version to avoid?
Logic Pro 11.2 can cause specific issues with MIDI Device Profiles, especially when using more than one device or moving devices around in Control Surface Setup.
Logic Pro 11.1 works as expected, and Logic Pro 12.x also works as expected. For the best experience, we recommend upgrading from Logic Pro 11.2 to Logic Pro 12.x.
