MAC USERS UPDATE - DO NOT USE IMAP SOFTWARE TO UPDATE YOUR FIRMWARE IN macOS Catalina! YOU MAY DAMAGE YOUR DEVICE

IMPORTANT: DO NOT USE IMAP SOFTWARE TO UPDATE YOUR FIRMWARE IN macOS Catalina! YOU MAY DAMAGE YOUR DEVICE

NOTE TO MAC USERS: While your iCon device may work well in Catalina already, WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT USE THE CURRENT IMAP SOFTWARE TO UPDATE YOUR FIRMWARE. The iMAP software still isn’t functioning properly in macOS 10.15 Catalina. If you MUST update your firmware, please use a Windows device or an earlier version of macOS.

BE ADVISED: If you’re using a newer computer, and Catalina is your Operating System, it is highly likely that your Icon device WILL WORK PROPERLY in Catalina. It is the iMAP software that is incompatible. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO UPGRADE YOUR FIRMWARE USING IMAP ON A DEVICE RUNNING macOS CATALINA! You may damage your icon device.

WAIT BEFORE YOU UPDATE to macOS Catalina

The next version of macOS (10.15 Catalina) is out, and Apple has made several changes in this new Operating System version that may affect the performance of many manufacturers’ applications and hardware devices. This is also true of iCON Pro Audio products. We are working diligently to ensure full compatibility with macOS Catalina, but at the moment, WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU WAIT BEFORE UPGRADING YOUR MAC TO macOS CATALINA.

If you have iCON software installed or are using an iCON plug and play hardware device on a Mac, we strongly suggest that you do not upgrade your Mac to OS 10.15 Catalina at this time.

iCon Pro Audio Software products affected include all iMap and ProDrive applications. Hardware devices affected are all iCON audio interfaces, control surfaces, keyboards and pad controllers.

We want to make sure that you will have the best experience possible when using our products, so we are working right now, and taking the time needed to get this right. Once we have achieved full support with Mac OS 10.15 Catalina, we would like to let you know.

If you are not already on our mailing list, please complete the email signup form below to sign up to receive updates from us.

For additional information or updates on our progress in the mean time, please visit the Help Center on our website: iconproaudio.com

We appreciate you for choosing iCON Pro Audio and thank you very much for your patience.

I just got my iKeyboard 8 Nano and wanted to upgrade the firmware. But no Catalina support. I don't have an older computer. What should I do? When will Catalina be supported?

Great. Just bought the Nano ,and not having logged into this section, tried the updater in Platform Nano desktop software. So now you are telling me that it may have damaged my brand new unit?

Same here. Seems to have damaged brand new Qcon Pro G2. What can be done?
Tim Beaton, Jac Deca, have you had any response in this matter?

Yeah, I just got a 'sorry' from tech support.
I returned my controller to the shop and got a complete refund.
So sad that we as 'endusers ' have to be their betatesters..
Apparently only their official service center can 'unbrick' your controller.

    Good luck and stay safe

So sorry to hear this... However I don't fully understand, since later they confirmed that iMap is fine with Mac osX Catelina, here: https://support.iconproaudio.com/hc/en-us/articles/360040266831-UPDATE-New-Icon-Pro-Audio-iMaps-Are-Now-macOS-10-15-CATALINA-Compatible

Received my Nano today, updated the firmware and bricked it. Sending straight back to the vendor on Amazon. The iMaps software is useless, the actual control surface is beyond intuitive and simply didn’t work correctly with Reason using Mackie Control. Only thing that worked was the transport controls. Documentation and support is abysmal. Guys, this product sucks, not to mention the absurdly obtuse account creation process on the website and forum. I really wanted to like this product, but will not be buying anymore in the future and will not recommend to others. If you want a better competing product go for the behringer x touch one. I’ve placed my order now. the only reason I went with the Icon Nano, was because stock was available and I didn’t want to wait weeks for the competing device, because I considered the functionality similar. It most certainly isn’t.

Bricked my X+ with the newest version of iMap today as well. such a shame because the product in itself worked quite fine and solid for nearly two years. But this is horrible. Very user unfriendly!
