ICONTROLS: Why Won't My IControls Device Work In Mackie Control Mode?

The iControls device has a very powerful feature allowing it to work both in Mackie Control mode as well as user-mapped MIDI mode without changing the software's mapping.

On the iControls device, you can select from one of four 'Layers' which change the mappings of the controls. You can set what most of these mapped controls are with the iMap software that comes with the device, however, Layer 1 is the only layer which can work with Mackie Control mode, while layers 2, 3 and 4 are all user-mappable MIDI controls.

Summary: If you want to use Mackie Control mode, make sure you are using Layer 1.
